At first glance this painting simply shows daily
133 life in Bali: a densely populated neighborhood,
BuDiaRta, nyoMan filled with buildings all around. There is one lot
(b. Tabanan, Bali, 1967) that remains as a rice field, and men are utilizing
Yang Tersisa (The Remaining) their cows to plough it. Many of the buildings,
if not most, are equipped with swimming pools.

acrylics on canvas A closer look shows that this painting discusses
140 x 140 cm about the issue about land in Bali. Rice fields are
√ signed √ dated becoming scarce on the island, as it is turned into
villas, hotels, and other tourism related facilities.
