MESSAGE FROM SIDHARTA AUCTIONEER
Dear Vintage Hunters,

There is a sense of flashback when we hear the word ‘vintage’: certain imagery, lines of patterns
and colour, the scent of morning, homemade food, popsicles, candy floss, merry-go-rounds,
a favourite soft toy, breezy day, fables and legends and many more. Vintage is evocative of times
gone by and allows us to time-travel and feel the romanticism of the past.
We at Sidharta Auctioneer feel that the notion of vintage only belonging to the past is
somewhat passe. We believe that the past can combine well with the present and be sustained
even into the future. Hence, we come up with our Future Vintage Auction which we hope
will attract those of us who love the aesthetic of the past fused with modern touches and
functionalities.

Our first Future Vintage Auction works in partnership with Luthfi Hasan, an avid and
renowned Indonesian vintage interior designer, whose work is signified by mid-century style
teak chairs intertwined with modern touches. He has done collaborative designs with two
young Indonesian graphic artists, Mabelle Emeralda and Evan Aditya to refurbished vintage
chairs. As David Bowie says, “Everything we choose expresses how we want to be perceived.
Why bother choosing a certain chair? Because that chair says something about you” who
can disagree with the great David Bowie? Come check out the chairs at the auction; each is
relatable to different personalities and lets you express your own style. Definitely, these chairs
are distinctively one-of-a-kind and refreshingly stylish.
At Future Vintage, you will also find one-of-a-kind Yukatas, the light, kimono-inspired
garment of Japan, produced by Show The Monster. This exclusive graphic is a satin Yukata and
designed by a young designer Sarkodit.
The curated lots at this auction include items such as bronze sculptures, ceramics, a 20th
century Japanese polychrome tea pot, vase, an early Qing 17th - 18th century blue and white
dish painted with flower arrangement, a lovely silver-plated candle holder with five brances,
a wooden display cabinet with gilt handles and a round table with three carved legs. These
carefully-curated items came from our passionate vintage collectors who wish to pass on their
collections to other homes.
At Future Vintage auction, you will certainly discover rare vintage treasures while doing your
part to help build the futures of those in need. Sidharta Auctioneer is supporting Sekolah
Bisa, a free school for children of underprivileged families. We will donate 1% of the total
