Welcome to September sales, Sidharta Auctioneer Asian Modern Fine Art & The
Collectibles. We present well-curated 83 artworks that consist of fine paintings,
sculptures, ceramics, decorative interior and furniture. You can start to place
your bids from home now.
We bring selected top art pieces by renown artists, as such Batavia by Gerald Pieter
Adolfs that depicts a street scene and seems to be near at Jalan Pekajon in the old
Jakarta with typical Chinese style shophouses. Judging from the title inscribed,
the painting seems to have come from one of his exhibitions in Sweden. Seated
Woman, a relatively rare work by Indonesia’s maestro, Affandi that was done very
early in his career. He used the well-known Plototan technique, with which he
squeezed and painted directly from oil paint tubes; later, it became his signature
of style.
Find a poetically deep soul dialog, Ayu Arista Murti visualizes her version of
Tears in Heaven: “You and me. And everything around it. You and me. And all
the stories. You and me. And all the unspoken meanings. You and me. And all
the beloved…”. Abdul Djalil Pirous shares how he might have enjoyed his typical
morning in his painting Alam Benda Pagi Hari (Still life in the morning) that
can be seen from his composition of a French press coffee maker, a bottle and jar.
Srihadi Soedarsono was known to paint his best abstract landscapes in the 1960’s.
It comes in dark black background with a vivid red sunset. This remarkable
painting and the few others belong to the late human activist, Rosita Noer.
This auction is enriched by the property of a late famous Indonesian lawyer,
Adnan Buyung Nasution as presented from lot number 745 to 750: The Fortune
Teller by R. Otto Djaya, Village Market Place by Sudjono Abdullah, Song of Stone
#9 by I Made Wianta, Puisi Kehidupan (Life Poetry) by Basoeki Resobowo, Batik
by Tulus Warsito, and Abstract by Hanafi. You will also find the work of Two Girls
Passing the Temple by Arie Smit, Veiled Woman by Jeihan Sukmantoro, Sudarso,
and a bronze sculpture by Gregorious Sidharta Soegijo.
Among the collectibles, we are offering four panelled Chinese wooden floor
screen, 18th century Qing Chinese rose peony dish, art nouveau teak cloth
hanger, vintage brass jardiniere, 20th century Palembang carved gilt wood display
cabinet, wall mirror with gilt, late 19th century Peranakan Chinese carved gilt
teak shrine and more.
